Investigating the correlation between smart urban growth and the development activities of large-scale commercial centers (case study: Isfahan metropolis)

Abstract

The accelerated process of urbanization in Iran and global developments in recent decades have made cities face various economic, social and environmental crises, and new cities are not immune to the side effects of these changes. In recent decades, we have witnessed the expansion of urban management trends (in developing countries found and even being developed), we are creating suitable opportunities for economic development and entrepreneurship flourishing in the city. Therefore, realizing and developing smart growth in cities is an undeniable necessity. One of the strategies for the smart growth of cities are large-scale commercial centers that can provide key and developmental services for urban communities at the national level and improve their living and livelihood conditions. In this regard, the present study analyzes the role of large-scale commercial centers in smart urban growth in Isfahan metropolis. In order to achieve this goal, by using the library-survey method and the researcher's questionnaire tool; The statistical population is 65 experts, specialists and experts. The sampling method in this research was purposeful (using the snowball method) and the collected data were subjected to statistical analysis using the T-test and correlation in the SPSS software environment. Statistical analysis shows that there is a direct and significant relationship between smart urban growth and large-scale commercial centers. Considering this, it can be said that large-scale commercial centers have caused smart growth in Isfahan metropolis, and these centers have been able to take a step towards the smart growth of Isfahan metropolis with their development measures.
